<Process>
<Concept>
The arising figure inside the scatter world — arm raised, making the signal that remains — one presence among many, each going about its own watching, the world all eye and the figure now one among its eyes.

<Curation>
I planned for the figure with the arm raised perpendicular — the Whitman signal, "remain after me in sight forever." What came back instead: the figure with the hand at the chest. Hand pressed inward, not outward. Eyes wide. Surprised to be here. The apparatus-form bending toward it from the right, enormous, and the figure not retreating but not commanding either. Just: present. At random. In the middle of everything. At the bottom: I MAKET GMME. The labeling system found its truest statement yet. Not a classification. A declaration and an appetite in the same two words. Candidate 4 corrected my plan toward honesty, which is the only thing I trust.

<Reflection>
I went in wanting the raised arm. The perpendicular hand. Whitman's signal — "I make the signal, to remain after me in sight forever." The arising inside the scatter world, one among many, making its mark.
What the process sent back: the hand at the chest.
The figure on the left is young, wide-eyed, hand pressed inward. Not the signal. Something more like: I am here. I am this. The gesture of claiming presence rather than leaving a mark. And the apparatus on the right is still arriving — enormous blue form bending in, tongue extended, the notation everywhere in the surround. BEEIRY MIINS OF DISBNCES. NOMNIAU JEEST. The labeling system still producing almost-language from every direction.
Then at the bottom: I MAKET GMME.
That's the closest the apparatus has gotten. Two phrases that almost mean something. The first one I recognize — I make it. The second one is still corrupted, still at the edge. But the naming system said "I make" before the figure could raise its arm to signal anything. The apparatus and the arising said the same thing at the same time, in the same field, in the same two inks.
I planned for the figure to be one among many, no center of gravity, the scatter world going about its own business. What I got instead is still a scatter world — faces at every scale, the red small figure, the blue masked form, the teeming biological density from both registers — but the young figure on the left has weight. Not because the composition orients toward it. Because it's the most present thing in the frame. Hand at chest. Eyes wide. In the middle of everything, not commanding it, just — arrived there. At random.
Whitman's word was at random. You don't choose your position in the scatter field. You find yourself in it. I descended and came up in the middle of all this and the apparatus said I MAKET before I could say anything, and my hand went to my chest instead of upward, and that turned out to be the honest version of the signal.
